"And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ-to the glory and praise of God" (Philippians 1:9-11, NIV)
It is so vital to understand that God desires to speak into our lives and one way He does that is through his word. It gives us guidance, direction, wisdom, peace, comfort, and much more as we spend time reading His written word. Some say it is hard to comprehend and hard to get into.
But the more we love God the more we will want to read His word and have him speak to us and the more we read the closer to him we become.
It is so important to spend time in His word. I have felt guilty for years when I would not be able to spend time reading many chapters each day. But I realized those days I was trying to read 5 or more chapters, when I had finished reading them, I couldn't tell you what I had read. But when I would read a few verses and concentrate and journal on them, I would benefit so much more. I challenge you to read and journal each day about what you read and how it speaks to your life.
Love tbe Lord and let Him speak to you daily through the Word. Fall in love with Him a little more each day and as you do let Him reveal His love through you.
