Love Helps

"When God's people are in need, be ready to help them" (Romans12:13a, NLT)

No matter where we go and where we find ourselves, we will always find those around us who are in need. For some it may be physical needs, emotional needs, spiritual needs, finances, etc. The list is endless. But God's mercy and grace are not. God has called us to reach out to those around us who are in need. To be ready to help them. The Bible even says if you see your brother in need and you shut up your bowels of mercy for them, how can you say you have the love of God in your heart?

We have to be careful that we don't get so caught up in our own lives that we forget there are others around us who are less fortunate or whose needs are greater than ours. If we think we have it bad, we need to stop and take a moment to look at others and see just how blessed we are. If your family is not facing some type of major sickness, financial problems, loss of jobs, family problems, then we need to be so thankful to God for it.

My challenge to you today is to take a moment and find someone who needs your help. It doesn't have to be a major thing. Maybe someone needs a ride to the doctor or to the store, maybe someone is sick and you could cook a meal, whatever the need may be, help to take care of it. Let God's love flow through your life today as we obey this scripture.
