Reveal Love To Your Leaders

"Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the Lord's work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance. Show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work." (I Thess. 5:12-13, NLT)

Several times in the Bible we are admonished to honor our leaders. One of the best gifts we can give them is our "changed lives". We must take the time to intentionally show them our love and respect.

As you stop and think about the people who have impacted your life. May I ask you the question, when is the last time you thanked them? Have you ever thanked them. When we show honor to them we honor God with our obedience.

You know we should never wait for a special occassion to thank those who have impacted our lives, we should do it today. Not one of us knows what tomorrow holds and if we may never have an opportunity to see that person again. It is too late when they are gone. As the old saying goes, we need to pin the roses on people while they are still alive.

As I sit here thinking about the people who have impacted my life-the list is so long! I am most thankful for a godly mother who was the greatest example of a Christian and mother to me. I remember my first grade teacher who gave me my first prize, my fourth grade teacher who always had coffee breath (which I loved),and my pastor's wife who had such a great impact on who I am today. There have been spiritual mothers and grandmothers, prayer warriors, dear friends whose love and support have brought me so far. My earthly brothers and sisters who walked with me through good and bad times. My wonderful husband who taught me to talk and who poured into me the assurance to be all God created me to be. My children who have challenged me to be the example to them that my mother was to me.

Who are those who have helped to change your life? Have you thanked them? WHen do you plan to do that? How does it make you feel when someone says thank you to you or show appreciation to you for something you have done?

The challenge for you today is to think of at least one person who has impacted your life and thank them either by an email, letter, phone call, or small gift. I know it will bless that person, but it will also bless you as well.
